The quickest way to get around town in Suzhou is by bus. Jeff makes it look easy. In reality, it's a recipe for crazy stories, awkward stares and proximity to people who find you bizarre and curious, and SO many culture clashes. I've never missed a car this much, and I'm so very ready to have the convenience of independent transportation. Still, it's been a heck of a ride.

I've never been on so many buses in my life. The other day a bus came by that was so full, Stayc and I thought we'd wait for the next one, but the kids started shoving their way on, so we had to follow. They are already becoming Chinese.
ReplyDeleteYes, it will be nice to have my own vehicle back to drive on less-crowded roads! But for now, the bus is great.
